California Dreaming: Visiting San Francisco

A Golden State Getaway

A huge suspension bridge located in San Francisco, California
Add the Golden Gate Bridge to that catchy title.

Welcome to California

Say hello to the most populous state in the US, and the home of the Hollywood stars you all know (maybe.) and admire (... Probably?)

Anyway, I know why you're looking at this blog post now and I'm sure you're looking for a vacation rental in California

Not sure where to start? Let me help you out!

Where?

You could visit LA for Hollywood, go to Santa Monica for the beach or the pier or even San Diego.

But I beg to differ.

A vacation rental is what we're looking for right? Peace and quiet and a real good R&R so I'd pick San Francisco if I were you.  To me, it seems the most quiet and the Golden Gate Bridge is just a marvel to look at.

The cable car is a real marvel to look at

The geography of San Francisco is pretty neat too, the streets goes uphill and downhill which is rarely seen in a dense urban environment. Anyway, enough about my ramblings and etc.

You want to experience those right? Let's get started.

Knowing the rules

The US has different laws by state so reviewing them might ease your mind should you decide to visit, but I'll break it in for you.

You'll be glad to know that the laws regarding vacation rentals there only applies to the owners who rent their homes provided that they register their homes for business.

But of course if you're looking for a vacation rental in San Francisco, you gotta research if it's listed as legal so you don't get evicted early due to the owner not registering their home.

Don't worry still, you won't be in trouble should a raid happen, but should it occur, I advise looking for nearby rentals or hotels to stay in as a backup plan, and do it before you even book.

If you also want to look in-depth at the rules and regulations about home rentals in San Francisco, you may look here.

All Set and Ready to Book

Got the gist of the laws? Good.

Now we're ready to book. If you're new at this, I suggest visiting my vacation rental guide so you'll get up to speed. But to explain it fast and simple, go visit sites like Airbnb, vrbo, and etc

To keep it simple, I'll introduce you directly to eGetinnz. Try to start here, and experiment booking on those other sites I mentioned once you get the hang of it.

Do take note that if you're booking, prices may vary per season so you gotta plan a year ahead, and always have a contingency plan should your booking gets cancelled suddenly.

And another thing, amenities vary per rental so sometimes you still have to bring your own stuff even if it's furnished and all (say they tell you they got cable but there's no TV, yes that happens)

Frequently contact the owner and build a relationship of trust to make future stays easier.

Hopefully this prepares you adequately for your trip
Safe travels and have fun!

Behind Closed Doors: A Glimpse of China

A Vacation in the Middle Kingdom

Ni Hao (Hello!)

A popular tourist spot in Beijing
A glimpse of Ancient China, or...

A bustling megalopolis?

Welcome to China fellow traveler!

Quite a good pick for a travel destination if I do say so myself.

China as we all know is the largest country in Asia, and being that large means it's also diverse in culture which makes it a very interesting place to be in.

Gotta admit, you don't usually hear about your peers planning to travel to China as their destination picks would probably just be in Hong Kong or Taiwan.

Probably because of how the media portrays China or how difficult it is to be in if you don't speak Mandarin. But doesn't it pique your curiosity? I bet you're dying to know what it's like in China through firsthand experience. Why don't we ponder about that for a bit?

Okay, first things first...

China being vast as it is offers a whole lot of places to see, not sure where to start?
I'd recommend seeing either Beijing or Shanghai first as those cities are the most popular places where people usually visit.

Beijing or Shanghai?

Now we got it narrowed down but where would you rather stay?
Beijing offers a diverse experience with its mix of ancient and modern architecture but it's more of Mandarin when it comes to talking so I'd recommend hiring a travel guide to go along with you.

Got lots of Ancient sights in Beijing like the Tiananmen square

While Shanghai is a city that leans over to the luxurious side of things, you could expect more English speakers there and you'll find a mixture of people there that came from other countries like France, Russia or even the US, and I'm saying lots so I think you would find it convenient.

What kind of vacation are you planning? It's yours to decide and it's all a matter of choice.

And more skyscrapers in Shanghai

Knock knock.. Who's there? Room Service that's who.

Duration of Stay?

Good, you've already picked a place by now, but of course you also need a place to stay in

Let's say you're only visiting for 2-3 days, you're probably better off finding a hotel.

But if you're staying for a week or so, I'd recommend booking for a vacation rental, that way you could  have more flexibility when you wanna experience the place like a local would.

But how do you book for one?

Probably you're typing "vacation rentals in China" in google right about now, so let's give you a few sites to help you with that, and believe me, these will come in handy.
